Rizk Expands in Turkey

Rizk for Professional Development, one of Syrian Forum's six institutions, is opening an office in Gaziantep.

Rizk works to prepare and enhance Syrians' personnel skills to fit the Turkish job market, in order to find employment for Syrians living in Turkey. Rizk provides its services free of charge to Syrian refugees so that they can support themselves and their families. Since its establishment in June 2014, Rizk has arranged over 6,000 jobs for Syrians living in Turkey through its office in Urfa.

Omran Issues New Seminal Studies

Omran for Strategic Studies, one of Syrian Forum's six organizations, recently issued two new studies. 

One study, titled, "The Syrian Security Services and the Need for Structural and Functional Change," was published in English on November 18th. The study found that the Syrian state does not possess a security sector sufficient enough to deserve reform. Security work in Syria currently falls under two categories: control and repression, and military-security networks. Two flaws can be identified will this system: first, the security structure's fragmentation, which limits its progress and development; and second, the largely fluid and boundless structure of the system. Therefore, any reform process of these security services must target their function and structure simultaneously.

Ihsan Urges Relief for Humanitarian Crisis in Syria #StandWithAleppo

Ihsan for Relief and Development, one of Syrian Forum's six institutions, recently issued a statement in solidarity with the Syrians of eastern Aleppo, calling for the international community and those in positions of influence to stop the bombings that have so far killed hundreds of men, women, and children and destroyed all hospitals in eastern Aleppo, and break the siege which prevents regular and unhindered humanitarian access to the area.

Bousla Implements Widespread Training Initiatives

October 2016 proved to be a productive month for Bousla for Training and Innovation, one of Syrian Forum's six institutions. 16 training courses took place throughout Syria and Turkey in the cities of Aleppo, Idlib, Urfa, and Gaziantep, with 200 training hours completed in total; 494 trainees benefitted from the courses.

Warm Touch Campaign Relaunched for Its Third Year

This winter season, Syrian Forum has relaunched the Warm Touch Campaign. The campaign endeavors to provide clothing and heating to displaced Syrians, to enable them to stay warm and safe as winter weather approaches. This will be the third year Syrian Forum sponsors the campaign, having previously done so in 2015 and 2014.
