'For the Children of Idlib' Press Conference

Over 17 international and local humanitarian organizations have organized an urgent conference to support all those who have been affected by the latest military campaign in Idlib. The conference titled 'For the Children of Idlib' was held on Tuesday Jan 7, 2020 at the Hasada Camp in Zardna Village on the outskirts of northern Idlib.

The conference calls on Secretary General of the United Nations António Guterres to visit IDP camps in Idlib. Participants also called upon the international community to exercise diplomatic pressure on Russia to stop bombing hospitals. Furthermore, all representatives urged nation states to influence the UNSC vote dedicated to cross border aid into Syria which was vetoed by Russia and China last month.

Latest Book Release:Palestinians of Syria

Our think tank has released its first book of the year!

Omran’s new book titled: "Palestinians of Syria.. Violation of Rights and Identity Challenges".

This research highlights legal status challenges and other problems facing Palestinians of Syria, the continued depletion of their presence in Syria, and the difficulties that face those who were forced to migrate and flee towards other countries. All attempts to remedy the deep fractures that have affected them remain tied to the outcomes of the Syrian crisis. It is difficult to foresee approaches or solutions that will assure Palestinians about the future of their existence in Syria, or lead them to a more secure legal status that guarantee their rights, so long as the international community is unable to end the tragic conditions of war, which portend even more tragic choices regarding the future of Syrians and Palestinians alike. Not least among those trajectories are the shrinking opportunities that refugees face with regards to regaining their original and fundamental right to return to the homeland from which they were originally displaced. This is especially true since the Syrian crisis, with all its tragedies, has moved them even further away from Palestine.

Eid Mubarak

Eid Mubarak! As Ramadan comes to an end, we would like to thank you for supporting Syrian Forum USA during the past month. Because of your generosity, we will continue to help tens of thousands of Syrians rise from the ashes and rebuild their lives.

It’s not too late to make a difference. One more donation means one more Syrian refugee could find a job; one more Syrian child could go to school; one more Syrian community could gain access to safe drinking water. One more donation means one more step toward justice, dignity, and freedom in Syria.

Iman's Story

Iman lost her husband when she was 25 years old. Faced with an uncertain future, she struggled to endure not only her own tragedy but an unprecedented humanitarian crisis in Syria. She relied on her job as an elementary school teacher to provide for her two young boys, Ahmad and Omar. Then her school was bombed.

“I felt broken and helpless,” Iman said. She lost her husband. She lost her livelihood. She nearly lost hope.

But then she discovered Syrian Forum. Through one of Syrian Forum’s six institutions, Iman began to rebuild her life. She completed comprehensive training programs, cultivated new skills, and knowledge, and secured a job with an education nonprofit in Syria. Today, not only is Iman able to support her two children, she is empowering her community—passing on the gift of education to the next generation.

Will you help us empower others like Iman to rebuild their lives and their communities?
